2.1 The Sources Panel

The Sources Panel displays your stored documents and contains the services Geneious Prime offers for storing and retrieving data. The arrow (>) symbol indicates that a folder contains sub-folders. Click this symbol to expand or contract folders.

The Sources Panel allows you to access:

• Your Local Documents.
• NCBI databases - Gene, Genome, Nucleotide, PopSet, Protein, Pubmed, SNP, Structure and Taxonomy.
• An EMBL database - UniProt.
• Shared databases, if set up.

All these services will be described in detail later in the manual. You can view options for any selected service with the right mouse button, or by clicking the Options button at the bottom of the Sources Panel in Mac OS X.
